Vacation Was Fun.....Back To Regular Schedule!
8.7.10
Hi Everyone - I've been on vacation with my kiddos. We've been visiting my grandparents in Bella Vista, Arkansas. I didn't do too bad while I was gone, however my daily schedule was outta wack. The best part for me is that my grandma is one of the best eaters on earth. She is the cutest, 100 pound little thing - and was great in helping to keep me on track. She lives on the golf course so it was wonderful to get up and run the golf course early in the morning and I did other exercises that Tonya had scheduled for me. My knee started to hurt (which is so odd because I've never had knee problems) after a few days, not sure if I'm just not used to all the hills when running but I had to take it a little easy when it came to exercising. I plan to run 7 miles tomorrow morning and hopefully my knee will be great (as I've been resting and icing it). While on vacation I got to focus on reading Jillian Michaels book, Master Your Metabolism. I started reading it a few months ago and just haven't had time. While we were at the pool I read this book - it is sooo good with lots of great information. I highly recommend this book. I also found healthy recipes, approved by Tonya, that I can start making. With the help of my grandma and aunt we made Chicken and Black Bean Burritos with Pinapple Salsa. I wished you could have seen this. It took me forever to make this recipe, I made a huge mess on the floor, cabinets etc. pans everywhere - But, it was soooo good and healthy. I now know how to make it and when I do it won't take long at all. So, slowly I am trying new recipes to master and incorporate them into our daily lives. My plan this week is to get ready for my half marathon next weekend. Tonya has a mild schedule prepared for me this week in preparation for the half. My week will be crazy as we have our 2nd Annual Pamper Me Back To School Event this week. All the girls ages 3 and up - get manicures, pedicures and facials in our Party Room. We did over 125 kids last year and plan to do more this year. So, I'm planning my workouts and nutrition around this event. Eventhough it will be a busy, tiring week - I have to put myself first and get geared up for my Half Marathon!
